Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •1\. Age 18 years and above
  • •2\. Consecutive patients with thyroid nodules \<4cm
  • •3\. Clinically and biochemically euthyroid

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\. History of intake of levothyroxine/metformin
  • •2\. Any ultrasound or FNA evidence of thyroid malignancy
  • •3\. Nodules causing compressive symptoms
  • •4\. Coalescent thyroid nodules (not suitable for size analysis)
  • •5\. HbA1c \>7\.5%
  • •6\. History of significant neurological or psychiatric illness which may influence thyroid function
  • •7\. Iodinated contrast exposure within past 6months
  • •8\. History of neck irradiation or neck surgery
  • •9\. Use of any medication that would affect thyroid functions
  • •10\. Pregnancy or lactation
