Inclusion Criteria
1 ASA class 1&2
2 Age35 to 60yrs
3 Patients undergoing elective vaginal hystrectomy
4 Patients giving informed consent
Exclusion Criteria
1.Any contraindication to epidural anaesthesia â??hypotension, previous spinal surgeries, spine abnormalities, local site infection and coagulation abnormalities.
2.Poorly controlled hypertension,angina,cardiopulmonary disease.
3.Patient with haematological disease, neurologic,psychiatric disease , severe renal or hepatic derangement.
4.Known allergy or hypersensitivity to study drug

Name Time Method 1 To compare the anaesthetic effect (onset & duration of sensory & motor blockade)during epidural anaesthesia with levobupivacaine plus dexmedetomidine vs. racemic Bupivacaine plus dexmedetomidine in patients undergoing vaginal hysterectomy. <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>2 To compare the effect of dexmedetomidine on haemodynamic stability either with racemic or levo bupivacaine <br/ ><br>Timepoint: anesthetic effect will be monitored intraoperative and post operative till two segment sensory regression and motor garde 0 achived. <br/ ><br>hemodynamic parameters monitored intraoperatively
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method 1.To compare the effect of dexmedetomidine added to local anaesthetic(either racemic or levobupivacaine) on duration of post operative analgesia. <br/ ><br>2. To compare the quality of anaesthesia either with levobupivacaine or racemic bupivacaine when combined with dexmedetomidine. <br/ ><br>3. To observe any side effect due to dexmedetomidine or racemic or levo bupivacaine. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: post operatively epidural supplimentation done once VAS score 3 is achived
