All adults patients between 18 to 70 years undergoing open GI malignancy surgeries of American Society of Anesthesiologists I & II
Surgeries that are expected to last less than 6 hrs
Refusal for the consent
Emergency surgeries and re-do surgeries
Patients having any coagulopathies
Diabetic patients
Contraindications to dexmedetomidine and ketamine
Contraindications to epidural
Patients who has received these drugs previously within one month
Known allergic to ketamine and dexmedetomidine.
Patients not extubated for >6 hrs after reversal

Name Time Method 1.To assess the effect of infusion of a low dose of ketamine and dexmedetomidine infusions vs placebo on the time to passage of first flatus and/or stools in patients undergoing GI malignancy surgeries.Timepoint: Post - Operatively 24 hrs to 72 hrs
