Inclusion Criteria
unrelated Caucasians, > 50% stenosis of a major coronary artery; at least 4 own teeth, need for ACB surgery
Exclusion Criteria
lack of consent to participate in the study, diseases or dysfunctions that exclude participation in a clinical trial, participation in a clinical trial 30 days prior to initiation of this study, systematic periodontitis or antibiotic treatment 6 or 3 months prior to enrollment, pregnancy

Name Time Method Incidence of new cardiovascular events (combined endpoint: myocardial infarction, revascularization, stroke, transient ischemic attack, cardiac death, and death from stroke) one year after ACB surgery.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Outcome 30 days after ACB surgery MACCE (major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events) criteria and 30-day lethality (combined endpoint).<br><br>Incidence of new cardiovascular events (combined endpoint: myocardial infarction, re-revascularization, stroke, transient ischemic attack, cardiac death, and death from stroke) three years after ACB surgery.
