Inclusion Criteria

unrelated Caucasians, > 50% stenosis of a major coronary artery; at least 4 own teeth, need for ACB surgery

Exclusion Criteria

lack of consent to participate in the study, diseases or dysfunctions that exclude participation in a clinical trial, participation in a clinical trial 30 days prior to initiation of this study, systematic periodontitis or antibiotic treatment 6 or 3 months prior to enrollment, pregnancy

Primary Outcome Measures

Incidence of new cardiovascular events (combined endpoint: myocardial infarction, revascularization, stroke, transient ischemic attack, cardiac death, and death from stroke) one year after ACB surgery.
Secondary Outcome Measures

Outcome 30 days after ACB surgery MACCE (major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events) criteria and 30-day lethality (combined endpoint).<br><br>Incidence of new cardiovascular events (combined endpoint: myocardial infarction, re-revascularization, stroke, transient ischemic attack, cardiac death, and death from stroke) three years after ACB surgery.
