Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1 - Duration of mechanical ventilation of 48 h
  • 2 - Clinical suspicion of VAP based on two or more of the following criteria:
  • A -Body temperature of >38.50°C or <36.0°C,
  • B -White blood cell count >10,000 or <4,000
  • cells/mm3 ,
  • C -Purulent tracheal secretions,
  • D -PaO2 /FIO2 <300 mmHg
  • E -Newly appeared CXR infiltrate

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1 Refusal of Consent
  • 2 Ongoing pneumonia
  • 3 Addition or escalation of antibiotics before
  • performing Lung Ultrasound, Bronchoalveolar
  • 4 Pneumothorax
  • 5 Emphysema
  • 6 Thoracic dressing
