Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1 \- Duration of mechanical ventilation of 48 h
  • 2 \- Clinical suspicion of VAP based on two or more of the following criteria:
  • A \-Body temperature of \>38\.50°C or \<36\.0°C,
  • B \-White blood cell count \>10,000 or \<4,000
  • cells/mm3 ,
  • C \-Purulent tracheal secretions,
  • D \-PaO2 /FIO2 \<300 mmHg
  • E \-Newly appeared CXR infiltrate

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1 Refusal of Consent
  • 2 Ongoing pneumonia
  • 3 Addition or escalation of antibiotics before
  • performing Lung Ultrasound, Bronchoalveolar
  • 4 Pneumothorax
  • 5 Emphysema
  • 6 Thoracic dressing
