Inclusion Criteria
1 - Duration of mechanical ventilation of 48 h
2 - Clinical suspicion of VAP based on two or more of the following criteria:
A -Body temperature of >38.50°C or <36.0°C,
B -White blood cell count >10,000 or <4,000
cells/mm3 ,
C -Purulent tracheal secretions,
D -PaO2 /FIO2 <300 mmHg
E -Newly appeared CXR infiltrate
Exclusion Criteria
1 Refusal of Consent
2 Ongoing pneumonia
3 Addition or escalation of antibiotics before
performing Lung Ultrasound, Bronchoalveolar
Lavage
4 Pneumothorax
5 Emphysema
6 Thoracic dressing
