Paediatric patients aged 3-10 years, ASA grades I and II of either sex, scheduled to undergo elective surgery under general anaesthesia with controlled ventilation, participating in the present study, and whose parents give valid informed consent would be enrolled. Both parental and childâ??s (verbal) consent would be mandatory.
1.Anticipated difficult airway.
2.History of cardiac, hepatic, renal disorders, neurological ailments, spine disorders and metabolic disorders.
3.Recent upper respiratory tract infection, sore throat, history of asthma, risk of regurgitation and aspiration.
4.Bleeding diasthesis.
5.History of previous surgery on face, head and neck.
6.Surgical procedures lasting more than 90 minutes.
7.Children with behavioural disorders.
