Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Patients (m/f/d) with acute ACL primary rupture with indication for surgical reconstruction
- •Planned ACL replacement surgery with autologous hamstring tendon or quadriceps tendon graft at Sana Dreifaltigkeitskrankenhaus Cologne, Germany
- •Patients are capable of giving consent, have full legal capacity and understand the nature, scope and significance of participation in the study
Exclusion Criteria
- •Concomitant injuries with an intrinsic indication for surgery, that lead to a change in the treatment regimen
- •Surgery or injury to the knee joint in the last 5 years (both on the injured leg and on the contralateral leg)
- •Comorbidities that are counterindicated to an active exercise program (e.g. severe cardiovascular disease, neurological disease, ...).
- •Rheumatic underlying diseases
- •Pregnancy
