Inclusion Criteria

For Group 1- Newly diagnosed PCOS

For group 2- Normally cycling

BMI matched

Exclusion Criteria

For Group 1- Any other known cause of amenorrhea

Taking concomitant medication for PCOS

Known hypersensitivity to Metformin

Chronic heart, pulmonary, kidney, liver disease

Uncontrolled diabetes with possibility of DKA

For Group 2- Any chronic systemic illness
