Pregnant female patients with singleton pregnancy, taken up for caesarean section under spinal anaesthesia for various indications (elective or semi-elective).
1. Emergency indication of cesarean section (like antepartum
hemorrhage, placenta previa, abruptio placentae, more than two previous LSCS, preeclampsia, fetal
distress, obstructed labour, umbilical cord prolapse, hand prolapse, patient in labor pains).
2.Patients having associated systemic illness.
3.Contraindications for spinal anesthesia. 4.History of seizures, coma,
neurological signs or symptoms(Eclampsia). 5.Patient refusal to participate in study. 6.Any allergy to local anaesthetic.
7. Obese (weight >100 Kg), short stature(height <150cms), with spinal deformity.
8.Parturients who had a fall in BP >20% of basal mean arterial pressure (MAP) following spinal anaesthesia but before oxytocin infusion.
