Age: 70 years and older; based on entry date into study
tHcy: Fasting plasma Hcy level > 15 µmol/L and < 50 µmol/L
Health status: Competent to make own decisions (*wilsbekwaam*); persons with skin cancer are allowed to participate.
Informed consent: Available
Compliance: > 85% (during run-in period)
Vitamin use: No current or recent (<4 months) use of supplements with high doses of B-vitamins.
No serious medical conditions, e.g. cancer diagnosis within the last 5 years or recent myocardial infarction; immobilization (bedridden, wheelchair bound).
Participation other trials: No participation in other intervention trials.
