Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Children aged 2\-59 months presenting with acute diarrhoea with wasting
  • Acute diarrhoea being defined as per WHO as three or more than three loose stools with recent change in consistency in past 24 hours.
  • Wasting being defined as weight for length/height \<\-2 SD

Exclusion Criteria

  • Children who have received IV hydration outside before presenting
  • Children with diarrhoea with known chronic illness like chronic liver disease or chronic kidney disease
  • Children presenting with shock /life threatening conditions
