Inclusion Criteria
All consecutive patients admitted to the ICU and more than or equal to 18 yrs of age will be eligible for inclusion in the study . The patients may or may not be on mechanical ventilation.
Exclusion Criteria
1.Patient/family who refused to take part in the study.
2.Patient expires before the seventh day of ICU admission.
3.Patient discharged before sampling ( treatment day <7)
4.Incomplete medical record.
5. Patient on anti fungal therapy before specimen collection preceding ICU admission.
