Inclusion Criteria

All patients age >18 y undergoing craniotomy for lective neurosurgical procedures

Exclusion Criteria

Patients undergoing Redo/Reexploration Surgeries (within 2 weeks of the first surgery)

Patients undergoing Stereotactic Biopsy/ Emergency Surgery

Patients undergoing Deep Brain Stimulation and Ablation procedures

Patients undergoing Endoscopic procedures.

Patients undergoing burr hole evacuation of blood clots and ventriculoperitoneal shunt procedures.

Primary Outcome Measures

To determine the incidence of intraoperative brain swelling in adult patients undergoing elective craniotomy.Timepoint: at opening of duramater, during surgery, at closure <br/ ><br>1: Brain below the duramater <br/ ><br>2: Brain at the level of the duramater <br/ ><br>3: Brain above the level of the duramater, pulsating. Surgeon proceeds with the surgery not <br/ ><br>asking for any intervention. <br/ ><br>4: Brain above the level of the dura and firm. Surgeon hesitant to proceed with the surgery <br/ ><br>without any intervention.
