Inclusion Criteria
All patients age >18 y undergoing craniotomy for lective neurosurgical procedures
Exclusion Criteria
Patients undergoing Redo/Reexploration Surgeries (within 2 weeks of the first surgery)
Patients undergoing Stereotactic Biopsy/ Emergency Surgery
Patients undergoing Deep Brain Stimulation and Ablation procedures
Patients undergoing Endoscopic procedures.
Patients undergoing burr hole evacuation of blood clots and ventriculoperitoneal shunt procedures.

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method To determine the incidence of intraoperative brain swelling in adult patients undergoing elective craniotomy.Timepoint: at opening of duramater, during surgery, at closure <br/ ><br>1: Brain below the duramater <br/ ><br>2: Brain at the level of the duramater <br/ ><br>3: Brain above the level of the duramater, pulsating. Surgeon proceeds with the surgery not <br/ ><br>asking for any intervention. <br/ ><br>4: Brain above the level of the dura and firm. Surgeon hesitant to proceed with the surgery <br/ ><br>without any intervention.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method 1. To study the risk factors for development of intraoperative brain swelling. <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>2. To compare the postoperative neurological complications in patients with and without intraoperative brain bulge. <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>3.
