Preeclamptic females with singleton pregnancy undergoing caesarean section under spinal anaesthesia,
Preeclampsia diagnosed as BP greater than or equal to 140/90 mmHg on two or more occasions at least 4 hrs apart and proteinuria greater than or equal to 300 mg/ 24 hrs or 1+ dipstick test.
Post-spinal hypotension, defined as fall of SBP of greater than or equal to 20% from the baseline or an absolute SBP < 100mm Hg, whichever is higher
Maternal complications other than preeclampsia e.g. chronic hypertension, other cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease; multiple gestation; known fetal abnormality; patients with absolute or relative contra-indications for spinal anaesthesia e.g. infection in lumbar area, coagulation abnormalities, platelet count < 75000/cumm, autonomic neuropathy, spinal deformities, other neurological diseases, hypovolemia due to any cause; severe fetal distress or other conditions requiring immediate induction of general anaesthesia
