Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
Systolic and diastolic blood pressure will be measured in the non-dominant arm using a digital sphygmomanometer (Omron HEM - 7113, Kyoto, Japan) positioned around the proximal third of the arm. Data will be collected at rest and every minute during the cold pressure test and PECA. Autonomic modulation will be evaluated through heart rate variability (HRV), obtained by analyzing the RR intervals recorded by a heart rate monitor (Polar V800 XC, Kempele, FIN). The analysis of the data obtained for HRV was performed in the time and frequency domains, using the Kubios HRV program (Version 3.4, Kuopio, Finland). The time domain variables were: mean of RR intervals (RRi), standard deviation of NN intervals (SDNN), square root of successive mean squared differences of adjacent RRi (rMSSD) and percentage number of adjacent RRi pairs differing by more than 50 ms from the previous RRi (pNN50).
