Inclusion Criteria

Patients who have been diagnosed with intracranial aneurysms who are planned for elective endovascular therapy by coiling under general anaesthesia

Exclusion Criteria

Patients who are known to be allergic to dexmedetomidine.

Patients who are on ventilatory support pre-procedure and unable to give consent for the study.

Post-procedure intracerebral vasospasm as asessed by drop in conscious level, development of new focal deficit or as assessed by transcranial doppler criteriaTimepoint: Vasospasm will be evaluated upto 48 hours post procedure
