Consenting adults aged 18 to 59 years, undergoing elective surgeries with endotracheal intubation lasting for 1 to 6hours duration.
2. Adults belonging to either sex with ASA PS Grade 1 or 2
1.Patient with nasogastric tube in situ.
2.Patients requiring throat pack intraoperatively.
3.Anticipated difficult airway.
4.Patients with a history of preoperative sore throat.
5.Upper respiratory tract illness.
6.Immune deficiencies.
7.Chronic smoker.
8.Taking tetracyclines or quinolones antibiotics or with allergic reactions to zinc.
9.Patient undergoing head and neck surgery.
10.Pregnant patients
