Inclusion Criteria

1Patient with written informed consent

2Either gender

3Short elective surgery lasting less than 1 hr (Excision Biopsy of lump, Hysteroscopic Endometrial Sampling , fractional curettage etc )

419 ââ?¬â?? 60 years of age

5ASA physical status 1 and 2

Exclusion Criteria

1Patient refusal

2Pregnancy

3 Alcohol and drug abusers

4Patients allergic to drugs involved

5Cardiovascular diseases

6 Respiratory diseases

7Significant Neurological illnesses like Epilepsy

8 Hepatic and Renal diseases

9 Emergency surgeries

10 BMI > 30

11Anticipated difficult intubation such as Modified mallampatti grade III, IV and Thyromental distance < 6.5cm, Mouth opening < 2.5 cm

12 Existence of a considerable pathology in the larynx or pharynx

13Known allergy to local anaesthetics
