1)ASA Grade 1/2
2)Proven complex unilateral hand injuries such as
flexor tendon cut injury
crushed hand injuries
>2 metacarpel bone fractures
1)Requiring surgical management within half an hour of hospital admission
2)Sensory deficits in the arm
3)Coagulopathy/ Vascular injuries of forearm
4)Haemodynamically unstable patients/requiring urgent care
5)Concomitant head injuries/ polytrauma patients
6)Patients with extensor tendon injuries/single
metacarpel fracture/phalangeal fractures,
bilateral hand injuries
7)Clinical features suggestive of compartment syndrome of forearm
