•age of 18 years or older,
•patients with bilateral mandibular premolar or incisor teeth definitely requiring nonsurgical removal with local anesthesia,
•patients with willingness to give informed consent and were cooperate with the study,
•patients with American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) physical status class I and II,
•ASA > II,
•patients with any systemic diseases including uncontrolled hypertension, diabetes or malignancy or any medical conditions,
•bleeding disorders, using antiplatelet or anticoagulant therapy;
•using or previous chemotherapy, radiotherapy and bisphosphonate therapy,
•any acute infection or local inflammation in the local exraction area;
•local pathology (e.g., cyst or tumor) associated with the tooth to be extracted,
•systemic viral, fungal or bacterial infections,
•allergy to the lidocaine or the other drugs used in the surgical protocol,
•using any anti-inflammatory, antidepressant or sedative medication in the last 12 hours as it may change the perception of pain,
•pregnancy or lactation or using oral contraceptives;
•consumption of alcohol or smoking were excluded from the study.
