Patients with technically difficult sigmoid colon were recruited. ‘Difficult sigmoid colon’ was defined as failure of experienced colonoscopists to pass through the sigmoid colon within 10 minutes. We asked recruited patients for taking part in this study. Patients between the ages of 18 and 80 undergoing elective colonoscopy without sedation were eligible for the study.
. Those with a history of colonic resection, severe colitis, and known obstructive colonic disease were excluded from the study.
