All subjects were systemically healthy; with at least 15 teeth present; with generalized severe chronic periodontitis.
Exclusion criteria: without history of taking any antibiotics within 3 months prior to study; immunosuppressive drugs; NSAIDs; vitamins; food supplements; tobacco and narcotics in the last 3 months prior to the study; pregnant and lactating women.

Name Time Method Clinical attachment loss, pocket depth, bleeding on probing. Timepoint: prior to intervention, one month after intervention. Method of measurement: clinical probing with dental probe.
