Postmenopausal women aged between 50-70 years old from the Sam Liam area of Khon Kaen’s Muang district
- have thyroid, parathyroid, liver, or kidney disorders;
- have previous histories of alcohol consumption, smoking, drug addiction, or substance abuse;
- be allergic to vitamin D supplementation; have taken calcium or vitamin D supplements within the previous three months or osteoporosis medication (i.e., bisphosphonates, raloxifene, strontium ranelate, teriparatide, etc.) within the previous six months;
- did not take these medicines that effect to 25(OH)D levels (i.e., anti-convulsant, anti-TB drugs especially rifampicin);
- suffer from frailty; or be bed ridden
