Brief Summary

step 1- Prior permission will be taken from Ethical committee , Government Medical College, Bhavnagar.

step2- Participants  who come to respiratory medicine department during the study period meeting inclusion and exclusion criteria and who are willing to give written informed consent will be taken in study.

step3- Data regarding smoking, age, gender, co-morbidities, past history of AKT will be collected.

step 4 -Before the test  Height ,Weight ,Age , Sex will be recorded

                                                      step5- Pulmonary function test  will be done in enrolled participant with computerized spirometer.

   

soft clips will be put on nose. The nose clips ensure that person  breathe through mouth, not  nose.

Patient has to put his or her  lips around a mouthpiece, and the mouthpiece connects to a spirometer

Ask patient to take deep breaths in and blow out as hard as possible .



step 6-Data of FEV1,FVC, FEV1/FVC will be taken.

                                                                              step7-Statistical analysis will be done with appropriate software.

Inclusion Criteria
  • 1Age group 18 to 60 years.
  • 2Patients with symptoms of dyspnea or cough with or without expectoration greater than or equal to 2 weeks.
  • 3Previously cured(atleast before 2 years) cases of pulmonary tuberculosis.
  • 4Sputum smear AFB negative patients.
Exclusion Criteria
  • Past history of respiratory illness before taking AKT.
  • Absolute and relative contraindication of PFT 1Chronic renal failure 2Psychiatric illness 3Malignancy 4Pregnant and lactating females 5HIV Positive patients Â.
