1. Parents willing to give consent for inclusion in study.
2. Patients aged between 6 and 18 years.
3. American society of anaesthesiology(ASA) physical status I or II.
4. Undergoing posterior spine fusion and instrumentation
1. Parental refusal to participate in the study.
2. Patient with a cobbââ?¬•s angle >110Ã?°.
3. Patient with known severe lung disease.
4. Patient with history of previous thoracic surgery.
5. Patient undergoing anterior release/ growth rod insertion/ revision surgery for scoliosis.
6. Intra-operative massive blood loss [defined by blood loss >40ml/kg] or massive transfusion[ >8 unit of PRBC transfusion during surgery]
