Inclusion Criteria:
a) Patients who are 18 years and above who are willing to participate.
b) Presence of at least 20 natural teeth excluding third molars.
c) Chronic periodontitis as stated by American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) classification 2018: presence of > 2 teeth in each quadrant with a PPD of > 5mm, CAL of > 4mm and radiographic evidence of interproximal bone loss. Along with BOP at >50% of sites of full mouth.
d) Patients who are hypertensive as per Blood pressure classification as given by American Heart Association 2017 guidelines for prevention, detection, evaluation and management of High Blood Pressure in adults.
a) Patients with any other known systemic disorder.
b) Patients who have received any form of periodontal therapy, surgical or non-surgical within past 6 months.
c) Patients who have received any antibiotic or anti-inflammatory drug regimen within past 6 months.
d) Patients who smoke or chew any form of tobacco.
e) Patients who are pregnant or lactating.
f) Patients who are undergoing any orthodontic treatment.
g) Physically and mentally challenged patients.
h) Patients prone to or with a history of allergic reactions to any component of the investigating materials.
