Inclusion Criteria

1. Parturients with diabetes mellitus undergoing elective Caesarean section under spinal anaesthesia

Exclusion Criteria

i.Parturients with contraindications for spinal anaesthesia

ii.Patients with other comorbidities like hypertension, cardiac disease, renal disease, liver disease

iii.Parturients presenting with fetal distress

iv.Parturients with uncontrolled blood sugar ( >200mg/dl on the day of surgery)

v.Patients on steroid therapy
