Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •All elective patients above 18 years of age who are undergoing elective midline laparotomy

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\. Patients undergoing other than elective midline laparotomy
  • •2\. Patients who has known hypersensitivity or allergy to one of the irrigation solutions.
  • •4\. Pregnant or breast\-feeding women
  • •5\. Patients with severe immunosuppression
  • •6\. Presence of concurrent abdominal wall infection
  • •7\. Preoperative systemic antibiotic therapy within 5 days prior to surgery
  • •8\. Previous abdominal surgery within the last 30 days or planned re\-laparotomy within the next 30 days
  • •9\. Patients who are not giving consent
  • •10\. Surgery of the abdominal wall (hernia mesh repair)
  • •11\. Participating in another clinical trial that interferes with the primary or secondary outcomes of this trial.
