1. Patients aged between 25-50 years of age.
2. Patients with at least 15 natural teeth remaining.
3. Patients suffering from chronic periodontitis (>= 5mm pocket Depth or >= 3mm loss of attachment) were selected.
4 .History of smoking.
Former smoker-An adult who has smoked at least 100 cigarettes in
his life time but since one year has not smoked . Smoker-An adult who
has smoked 100 cigarettes in his lifetime but who currently smokes
cigarettes every day or on some days.
Nonsmoker- No habit of smoking.
1.Chronic systemic pathology, such as diabetes, other endocrine
Pathologies, hematological pathologies.
2.Subjects on antibiotics or anti-inflammatory drugs within the last 6
Months.
3.Subjects who underwent professional cleaning/ periodontal
Treatment within the last 6 months or diagnosed with aggressive
Periodontitis.
