Inclusion Criteria

1.ASA PS I-II, aged 18-80 years undergoing elective ambulatory surgery.

2.BMI of 20-30 kg/m2

3.Elective surgery of planned duration 0-2 hrs.

Exclusion Criteria

1.Patientâ??s refusal or inability to give informed consent

2.Neck pathology

3.History of upper gastrointestinal disorders including gastroesophageal reflux disease, hiatus hernia, gastro-oesophageal cancer or upper gastrointestinal surgery

4.Previous or anticipated problems with the upper airway

5.Live pregnancy

6.Increased risk of gastric aspiration

7.Metabolic disorders like diabetes mellitus and chronic kidney disease
