1. At least 18 years old
2. singleton term uncomplicated pregnancy (37-42 weeks)
3. indication for cesarean section
4. regional anesthesia (carbetocin is licensed for use with regional anesthesia only)
1.contraindications to use uterotonic drugs (heart disease, high blood pressure, allergic medicine)
2.severe anemia (Hb ≤ 8 gm / dl)
3.Disease or used drug that results abnormal blood bleeding
4.fetal distress
5.High risk for PPH due to uterine atony
•prolong latent phase of labor
•history of PPH
•multiparity (childbirths >4 )
•massive blood loss before labor
•placenta previa
•placental abruption
• placenta adherence
