All patients of American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I and II criteria belonging to age group of 18-65 years undergoing laparoscopic surgeries under general anaesthesia.
Obesity(BMI >30 kg/m2), anticipated difficult airway, cardiopulmonary disease, renal or hepatic insufficiency, neurological or psychiatric disorders, hypertension (BP >140/90 mmHg), diabetes mellitus, allergy to dexmedetomidine, alcohol abuse, patients on anti-platelet drugs or steroids and pregnancy.
