Inclusion Criteria
1 All the patients who will undergo orthopaedic spine(discectomy orlaminectomy) surgery will be included irrespective of age and gender
Exclusion Criteria
1 Patients who had pre-existing infection.
2 Patients with hypersensitivity to the study drug
3 Patients who had taken antibiotic in the last two weeks prior to surgery
4 If surgery extends beyond 4 hrs or if intra op blood loss > 1500 ml patient will be excluded from study
