Inclusion Criteria
•ASA physical grading I and II
•Age group of 40 years and above
•Patient undergoing elective total abdominal hysterectomies
Exclusion Criteria
•Patient with morbid obesity (body weight > 100kg)
•Uncontrolled hypertension
•Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus
•Impaired renal and hepatic function
•History of :-
•drugs and alcohol abuse
•seizures disorder and psychiatric diseases
•haematological disease, bleeding or coagulation test abnormalities,
•allergy to local anaesthetics of the amide type
•backache
•Patient refusal to regional anaesthesia
•Infection at local site
•Pre-existing sensory or motor deficit
•Deformity of spine
