Inclusion Criteria
1.Age 1 month to 5 years.
2.First episode of generalized or focal seizures
3.Serum total calcium <7 mg/dL ( <1.8 mmol/L) or ionized calcium <0.8 meq/L
Exclusion Criteria
1.Associated systemic illness
2.History of epilepsy, febrile seizures
3.History suggestive of any underlying acute or chronic CNS illness
4.History of chronic systemic disorder (e.g., chronic renal disease, chronic liver disease)
•Not regained consciousness even after 2 hours of initial seizures
