a) diagnosis of pneumonia with diagnostic indication to perform bronchoscopy with BAL
b) intubated patients with following clinical and radiological criteria of ARDS and indication to perform bronchoscopy with BAL:
- acute onset of respiratory worsening within 38 to 72 hours
- bilateral infiltrats in chest x-ray
- PaO2/FiO2 <300mmHg
- No suspected left arterial pressure
c) Healthy subjects: Nomal values in laboratory and lung function testing
in a) and b) NO clinical indication to perform bronchoscopy
a) in patients with pneumonia:
- severe heart failure
- lung edema
- pulmonary infections like tuberculosis, influenca pneumonia, swine influenca
- bronchial carcinoma
- chemotherapy during last 2 weeks
b) in ARDS-patients:
-Suspected elevated left arterial pressure
- pulmonary infections like tuberculosis, influenca pneumonia, swine influenca
- bronchial carcinoma
- chemotherapy during last 2 weeks
