Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Patients undergoing major head and neck surgeries (intraoperative time \>4hrs ) including oncological, pathological, orthognathic, reconstructive, panfacial fracture cases.
Exclusion Criteria
- •Patients with
- •(i) hypersensitivity to dexamethasone
- •(ii) active infections, such as tuberculosis, viral diseases, and mycoses
- •(iii) patients with thrombosis
- •(iv) uncontrolled diabetes requiring regular insulin
- •(v) mental disorders such as poorly controlled depression
- •(vi) active gastrointestinal ulcer
- •(vii) uncontrolled glaucoma
- •(viii) continuous use of oral steroids in the preop period (autoimmune disease)
- •(Ix) minor oral surgery procedures
