Inclusion Criteria

1) Patients with TSH >10 mcIU/ml inspite of a Thyroxine dose more than 1.7 mcg/kg/day.

2)Those requiring a thyroxine dose more than 3mcg/kg body weight/day.

Exclusion Criteria

1) Patients with critical Illness

2) Patients unwilling for the study.

3) Patients with known gastrointestinal malabsorptivedisrorders.

4)Patients with known structural, ischemic or rhythm disease of the heart.

5) Patients on medications known to decrease thyroxine absorption or hasten metabolism.

6) Patients accepting non-compliance to medications missing even one dose in last 6 weeks.
