Inclusion Criteria

Bipolar patients in the acute phase of mania who, according to the physician, needed ECT
Young Mania Rating Scale greater than or equal to 20
Age greater than or equal to 18

Exclusion Criteria

Psychiatric disorders except Bipolar 1 Disorder
Having a systemic disease
Citicolin Contraindication

Primary Outcome Measures

Cognitive function. Timepoint: Before the intervention, after the first, second, third and fifth sessions of ECT. Method of measurement: Cognitive function Test by using Minimal Mental State Exam (MMSE).
Secondary Outcome Measures

The reduction of mania symptoms. Timepoint: At the start of the study and the first and second week after receiving citicolin. Method of measurement: Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS).
