After the ethic committeeâ??s approval, informed written consents were obtained from 108 patients, ASA physical status Iâ??II, age between 18 and 65, scheduled to undergo elective arthroscopic knee surgery.
Exclusion criteria included Patient refusal, any known allergy or contraindication to ropivacaine, or dexmedetomidine, pregnancy, lactating mothers and children, hepatic, renal or cardiopulmonary abnormality, long-term analgesic therapy, spinal cord deformities, bleeding diathesis, local skin site infections , and morbid obesity (body mass index > 35)..
